Growth of the company
Since the foundation by Otto Hartmann in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg on August 1, 1945, the company has grown up from their origins in electrical craftmanship to a medium sized industrial company-
with a large number of workers and services.
The production facilities have been enlarged several times by additional investments and were modernized various times, in order to meet the requirements of new customer structures. Among the customers are more and more major factories and large industrial companies.
Expansion: The tasks within the range of manufacturing switchgear and explosion-protected control boxes, automation and data/ network technology constantly grow. The necessary extensions led to the opening of the new company building (office annex, work- and warehousing hall) at the König Georg Stieg 10 in 1993. In order to meet the service requirements of the future the company Hartmann Elektoanlagen has been changed in Hartmann Elektrotechnik GmbH in 1994.
 In the same year the certification of our company according to DIN EN ISO 9001 took place. On February 1, of this year the opening of a new branch in the Saxonian industrial area Leuna was celebrated. The company Hartmann Elektrotechnik took responsibility for the restructuring of the new territories of the Federal Republic as well. In 1995 we had good reasons to celebrate a grand event: the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Hartmann. In 1997 the Leuna branch moved into the neighbouring city of Schkopau/Buna and the assembly workshop in Hamburg has been extended by 300 m².
This was however only the prelude for the new building of the branch in Merseburg, which began in 1998 with the purchase 5000 m²  of trade property in Merseburg/Halle. During the construction phase many innovations took place: Hartmann became certified SIEMENS SIMATIC Solution Provider within the range of industrial automation. The department of yacht electronics has been founded, and Hartmann took over the nation wide service for CEAG emergency lighting systems. 1999 is marked by the introduction of our safety management system according to SCC ** (SGU).
2006 new locations in Bremen and Hannover were opened. Since 2007, we are located also in Kiel with office and workshop, and since 2008 in Henstedt-Ulzburg with networking technology and Hartmann-ikt. In June 2009 with the acquisition of a suitable building with 1000 m² assembly hall and 500 m² offices, for our branch in Hannover-Langenhagen, our company's history was once again updated.
